For those of you looking to upgrade to Android 4.1.2 and with some great customizations, check out the latest CM10 ROM “M2” stable version for your Galaxy Nexus (available for all GSM/Verizon/Sprint).  The latest CM10 ROM brings you Android 4.1.2 with more customizations than ever on one of my favorite ROMs of all time.

For homescreen, you can adjust the grid size to your liking to fit more apps on your homescreen, this can be very handy for those of you with lots of apps and have hard time organizing them.  I recommend maximum of 5 rows and 7 columns.

Also, you can resize any widgets to your liking (such as Facebook, Twitter) by checking the “Resize any widget” option in Homescreen settings.

Of course, lockscreen now has a ton of customizations including weather/calendar widget, and up to 4 lockscreen shortcuts of your choice.

In “Status bar” settings, you can also activate the slide brightness control, this comes in handy for many dark rooms and fun feature.

With the Power widget option, you can easily customize your toggles in the notification bar.

Also, don’t forget to add more buttons for your navigation bar in settings.

Under “Galaxy Nexus Settings”, you will be able to easily overclock your GPU to 512Mhz, this can be handy for those of you hardcore gamers.

Of course, one of the main features added with Android 4.1.2 is the landscape home screen, you can also adjust settings to view home screen in every angle.

Overall, CM10 ROM M2 coupled with Android 4.1.2 proves to be an immense upgrade and stability/performance is very impressive.  I know there’s a ton more custom ROMs coming in the next week or so but for now, give the latest CM10 M2 a try and let me know how it fares on your GNex.

  8. Rodrigo says:

    Hi everyone.
I have a rooted JellyBean version in my Galaxy Nexus (4.1.1) and I want to upgrade to this Cm10 version of Jelly Bean 4.1.2.
Can I just update my system? Or i will lose my apps and data? (wipe reset)?

Thank you and I am sorry if this question was previously answered.

    • samer says:

make apps and data backup using titanium.apk or mybackuproot.apk then wipe data, flash rom, flash gapps, wipe cashe, reboot

      • Rodrigo says:

Thank you. I got it (I think that i will do the same as when I root and installed Jelly Bean for the first time: sms/contacts/app/media/etc backup; wipe data and flash rom, install and reboot, smth like that).

So.. I will post the results later if I sucessfull.

    • Rahman says:

You can try it without wipe first. I did that.

  9. Roshmi says:

Any inverted gapps avaible for any of these? For a dark theme SMS and contacts etc?

  10. Len Kiat Leong says:

Looks like 4.1.2 is faster than stock 4.1.1. Love this ROM. Super fast and it smokes iphone5 and S3 when one toggle between apps and go back to home screen. Love the 360 degree rotation on home and lock screens, overclocking GPU and CPU, 7 screens, adjustable widget size and many more….
However, camera app cannot delete photos by swiping it away. 4.1.1 allows one to do just that. Stock browser does not support flash 11.1. MIUI 4.1.2 supports that. Gonna miss that.
    Rating? 10/10 !!!

  11. Ahmad says:

Maxxxxx! Can we please get STOCK 4.1.2 PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! Ok thanx. bye.

  12. Emil says:

  13. Emil says:

is there something i missed on the install of the rom? Have jellybean stock rom 4.1.2 and tryed to backup using titanium back up. But when i install the apps from backup, like googeplay appstore its shuts down. Cant do anything. Can some one give me feed back to work this out. Cus i really want to go high on android and run custom rom´s. plz help !

  14. DC says:

Does anyone know if this has the function to increase speaker volume?

  15. Rodrigo says:

Hello. Yesterday I put this custom rom and i loved it.
Of course, i wiped the data and apps, i am doing the restore in the moment.
For now, i dont know if the rom is workint properly, but i did some tests and for me its okay.

    Tank you.

  16. JACK says:

THE BATTERY IS HORRIBLE AND I THINK IT HAS TO DO WITH JELLY BEAN I WAS ON THE CM10 M1 AND PINKY GOHST KERNEL

UPGRADED TO M2 AND STILL NO CHANGE

UPGRADED KERNEL TO FRANCO MILESTONE 6 AND STILL NO CHANGE

5 HOURS 1 MINUTE 41% PERCENT BATTERY LEFT

I AM READING ONLINE ABOUT KTOONSEZ KERNEL IS GREAT WITH CM10 M1

SO WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR MAX IS BEST BATTERY. AND 4.1.2 IF I NEED TO GO BACK TO 4.1.1 THAT IS FINE.

  17. Emil says:

Okej.. my batterylife are better now with cm10 m2 then stock jelly bean. And my goes @ 1.35ghz !
Have played with it constant for nearly 5 hours and still have 45% battery left.
Nice to overlock GPU and CPU, but maybe not recommandad for hardware instability and damage cause.

Im new in custom roms and thats why im playing with it alot.

  18. Riku says:

Im i doing something wrong? after i install this, my android version is still 4.1.1 What i have to do to get it .2

  19. Mike says:

I install the zip file from the recovery and then reboot and get stuck on the sart-up image/animation. Any ideas?

this is happening with multiple ROM’s

  20. thanostsimo says:

question is,to flash or not to flash ?

    • Emil says:

Im new with custom roms.. i just bought my Nexus and the first thing i did was to install custom rom.
And i havet tryed a nother rom cus im really happy and have no problem with it. Im run it for a few days now.

I think you really must try this rom. Its really fast and its really stable!

      • thanostsimo says:

to be honest, aokp suits me better.found some issues also on cm10,which made me return to 4.1.1.I’m now waiting aokp for 4.1.2 (maybe beta 5)

        • Rodrigo says:

In few words, can you say whats is better in aokp 4.1.1 than cm10 4.1.2?
          Because im new in roms.

          Thanks

          • thanostsimo says:

The reason I returned wasn’t stability.Didn’t acutally test the version.but I didn’t like the cm10s settings.for instance customization. Also I couldn’t retrieve my backups from aokp via titanium backup.screen flashed all the time like mad.I know that it is normal because the settings were asociated with another rom.Overall I thing you should give a try to AOKP Beta-4.Deffinitely the best rom out there for Galaxy Nexus.Really nicely combined with Franco Kernel.and if you don’t like, returning back to cm10 is easy 🙂 cheers

Is anyone else having problems with WiFi not authenticating and connecting?

  22. sadiq samm says:

what kernel is best for this rom? Kkndly give me a lknk and tip on how i can get and install it. I have always been flashing custom roms on stock kernel without observing any appreciable battery life.

  23. StephZ says:

Seems to work great except I can’t view my Picasa albums in Gallery anymore, local albums: Camera, Downloads all fine but no Picasa ones… (and Gallery has no settings either, just a black screen).

Anybody else got that? Any idea how to get my albums back? (up 4.1.1 all was fine)

    • StephZ says:

No hints? Actually I’ve tried to go into the Sync Settings (which by the way needs to be accessed from the People’s Settings, there’s no Sync section in the Settings app), I have Google Photos checked, but there’s no Piacasa field, is that normal? Do you guys not have this checkbox in your Settings? (It sure was there before)

      Thanks for any help

  24. Brad says:

I had two problems with this ROM..

First, it lagged like crazy. tried numerous launchers and ran the rom for a couple of days to see if it was cache.

Second, I had problems with data issues. Said I had 4g but would get no data connection problems. On wifi signal was rather weak.

Im running AOKP build 5 now and have zero issues.

    Just what I experienced.

  25. Ryan says:

    I get –Installing: /sdcard/cm-10-20121011-EXPERIMENTAL-toroplus-M2.zip
    Finding update package…
    Opening update package…
    Installing update…
    assert failed:getprop(“ro.product.device”) == “toroplus” I I getprop(“ro.build.product”) == “toroplus”
    E:Error in /sdcard/cm-10-20121011-EXPERIMENTAL-toroplus-M2.zip
    (Status 7)
    Installation aborted.

I am using CWM recovery… but this is my first ROM flash on my stock rooted sprint gnex running 4.1.1. Any help would be greatly appreciated…
